LifeSpring Daily Devotional 20 April 2020 Monday

Beloved, i wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as they soul prospereth; (3 John 2)

God’s agenda for man is to live long and fulfil his dreams.  Prosperity is for the living and not the dead. A man who has no life will not think of building a house, driving a good car or even going to school. Life is very essential in the fulfilment of dreams and aspirations.

This is the reason Jesus said to us in John 10:10b. I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly; God knows that life is essential for purpose to be manifested. God does not only give life, but He has made sure that the life he has given to us is with good health. Not just being alive but being in good health. Being in wealth not in health will amount to poverty and sorrow because the individual will eventually use all he has to treat his health.

So as a child o God, I want you to know that God is mindful of your health. When God speaks, He backs it up with the provision. And one of God’s provision is for long life and prosperity. God’s word instructs and guides us, But this word is more than a guide book. It is life! Moses had a different view of God’s word than just a written word. No wonder Moses told the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 32:46-47; And he (Moses said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because IT IS LIFE: and through this thing (the word) ye shall prolong your days in the land,…..Halleluyah!

This is exciting to know that length of days and longevity is by the word. Moses had another mindset from what the Israelites had.
No wonder he told them, this is beyond just reading the letter. It is your life. The Israelites saw the word as just instruction to obey and law to observe but Moses saw the word as life and length of days. As a child of God. develop the attitude of studying and meditating on God’s word daily. Not only reading it, but also putting it at heart by memorizing it. I have met some children of God who say they have challenges memorizing more than a verse of the scripture you have to understand that it is not by strength but by the spirit of God.

You can start from just a verse a day. In fact, the shortest verse and before you know what happening such fellow will grow in the word.

Another way to grow in this word is to make sure that none of your sentences is complete without referring to the scripture. The word of God is life, it heals and it delivers. No wonder David said; He sent his word and he healed them and it delivered them from their destruction;

Healing is meant for the sick and deliverance is for the healthy. God’s word is double-edged. It heals and it also delivers. I pray for you today that God will give you the grace to do his word in Jesus Name.

Our father, as I have studied your word today, let me be prosperous and in health in
Jesus Name.

Now, I trust you must have been blessed by this devotional. Therefore, to maximize the benefit that is in Christ Jesus, you must, first of all, identify with Him. I invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord over your life if you have not before now surrendered your life to Him. Do well to make this confession:

“O Lord God, I believe with all of my heart in Jesus Christ, your beloved Son. I believe He died because of me and was raised from the dead. He’s alive today and I confess Him (Jesus Christ) as the Lord over my life from this day.
